THREE DIMENSIONS OF LIGHT
The lighting object as an architectural element in transformation throughout time — throughout the day.
Lighting objects are not merely light sources.
They are formative elements within a space — architectural bodies that change in rhythm with daylight and darkness.
Every well-designed lighting object possesses three dimensions of appearance:
During the day: Sculpture in space.
Form, proportion and materiality take center stage.
The lighting object acts as an architectural volume — in direct dialogue with spatial geometry, surfaces and the guidance of natural daylight.
At dusk: Threshold to atmosphere.
The lighting object begins to interact. Reflections, shadow play and subtle luminous accents modulate the perception of space. Architecture becomes softer, transitions more fluid.
At night: Staged spatial identity.
Now the lighting object takes the leading role. It defines zones, emphasizes spatial axes and creates hierarchies. Light becomes material, atmosphere becomes experience.

The Story – of LUMINARE
LUMINARE Lighting Design was born from the many years of experience of architect
Johann Nerlinger –
European architect, interior and lighting designer.
From an intensive exploration of space, light and shadow.
From the planned and experienced diversity of architectural expression.
From the constant interaction between people, space and light.
And from the conscious use of materials and their aesthetics.
Architecture is not static.
It is experienced, perceived and felt.
Light shapes spaces.
Shadows give them depth.
Together they create atmosphere, orientation and emotion.
From this philosophy, today’s LUMINARE designs are created –
a new type and generation of light and luminaires,
not conceived as pure objects, but as part of the space.
